I LOVE AIRPORTS

There’s just something about airports that gets me so excited. The energy of the people coming and going. The excitement and possibility of visiting a new place. Don’t hate me - but even going through TSA checks I find enjoyable.

What better place to people watch than the airport. People saying goodbye to and welcoming back loved ones. This is where the drama of life happens.
“I love the sounds in an airport. I like the sounds of baggage wheels clacking on the moving sidewalk, a boarding pass being torn off, and my passport being stamped. All of those are comforting reminders that I am either almost home or soon to be somewhere new and exciting.” - Athletes Abroad athletesabroad.wordpress.com
I've been traveling on planes since I was three, shuttling from Los Angeles, where I was born, to the Philippines, where my sister lived. At that very young age, airports and airplanes seemed magical. You hop onto a plane, doze off for 12 hours, and bam you're in a whole different world. I remember on one of those many flights, my dad waking me up to look out the window. Our plane was just passing by a huge mountain in Hawaii, towering above the clouds illuminated by a full moon. It looked like the magic carpet ride in Disney's Aladdin. Just one of those memories I treasured and probably part of the reason why I loved airports and airplanes.

My favorite airport - LAX
I need to give a shout out to my home airport and hub - The Los Angeles International Airport LAX https://www.flylax.com/. Thank you for giving me countless hours of Airplane Spotting, and people watching. And thank you for feeding my inner foodie with your restaurants.
